Why One-Click Workflows Matter in Commercial Production
In high-pressure commercial pipelines and fast-paced YouTube production, spending 30 minutes manually building height maps and displacement layers for every single title card kills productivity. Creating a standardized, modular adjustment rig allows you to drop liquid glass styling onto any asset in under five seconds.
Building the Universal Adjustment Layer Rig
- Create an Adjustment Layer at the top of your composition named
[GLASS_MASTER_RIG]. - Apply our pre-configured Liquid Glass Plugin / Preset.
- Link the glass surface highlight coordinates to a central 3D Point Control slider using the expression:
thisComp.layer("Null_Controller").transform.position; - Save the layer as an Animation Preset (
.ffx) via Animation > Save Animation Preset... into your User Presets folder.
Keyframing Fluid In & Out Transitions
To make glass cards materialize dynamically:
- Scale & Refraction Burst: Animate the glass card scale from 85% to 100% using exponential easing curves with Flow. Simultaneously animate Displacement Height from 50 down to 15 to simulate solidifying fluid.
- Light Sweep Trigger: Keyframe a diagonal light sweep across the top specular edge exactly as the card comes to a resting position.
Applying to Logos, Icons & Typography
Because the rig reads alpha channels procedural, you can swap out text for a vector company logo or SVG icon without touching the underlying effects stack.

Save them in 'Documents\Adobe\After Effects [Version]\User Presets\'. They will immediately show up in your 'Effects & Presets' panel.
Yes, though placing the preset on an Adjustment Layer directly above the text layer ensures both the text and background interact with the optical refraction.
