The 180-Degree Shutter Rule & ND Filters for Drones

Drone footage often looks harsh and jittery because bright daylight forces the camera to use shutter speeds of 1/1000s. Use physical Neutral Density (ND) filters (ND16/ND64) to lock your shutter speed at double your frame rate (e.g., 1/50s for 24fps or 1/120s for 60fps), generating natural cinematic motion blur.

Color Grading DJI D-Log & D-Log M Footage

  1. Apply the official camera manufacturer conversion LUT to map D-Log to Rec.709.
  2. Check the sky in your Waveform monitor: ensure high-altitude clouds do not clip past 95 IRE.
  3. Use Hue vs Saturation curves to prevent foliage greens from turning neon yellow, shifting foliage towards deep, organic forest emeralds.

Horizon Leveling & Smooth Warp Stabilization
